Basically it seems that the sustain pedal and E3 key send the same midi note.

It seems as though if you press the sustain pedal too soon after releasing it, it will send note 64rather than CC I have to admit that I am quite new to all this MIDI stuff, so maybe I am missing something really obvious, but I somebody could help point me in the right direction, that would be awesome! I just got my Yamaha P85 back from getting repaired the sustain pedal jack needed to be replaced, they tend to go out and now I am trying to get sounds from my Microkorg XL into the Yamaha so I can play the Microkorgs sounds on my full 88 key yamaha.
